Mhlathuze Water Board has dismissed Chief Executive Mr Sibusiso Makhanya

The board of Mhlathuze water has terminated the contract of employment of its Chief Executive, Mr Sibusiso Makhanya.

This follows his suspension by the previous Board in the year 2015 following a forensic investigation against him which revealed findings of impropriety as well as tender irregularities against him.

Further findings of allegations of misconduct against Mr Makhanya were brought to the attention of the current Board which led to his immediate dismissal. Mhlathuze Water communications manager, Siyabonga Maphumulo says, the board wishes Mr Makhanya well in his future endeavors.

KwaZulu Natal police sought two women who went missing after ANC manifesto launch in Durban

Eshowe police are urging anyone that might have information on the whereabouts of a reported missing woman from KwaKhoza reserve, outside Eshowe.

20 year-old Nokwanda Philile Shandu allegedly went missing on the 12th of January 2019 after leaving her homestead to attend the ANC manifesto launch at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban. King Cetshwayo police cluster, police spokesperson Captain Mdlalose says, it is alleged that Shandu went swimming with an unknown man, leaving her clothes and cellphone with her friends who waited for her until late before reporting the matter.

In a separate incident, a 24 year-old woman from Ward 5 in Nseleni went missing after separating with her companions while exiting rhe Moses Mabhida stadium. The woman also disappeared on the 12th of Januaury 2019.

Captaian Mdlalose has urged people to be careful when travelling and to notify others when moving from place to place. He condemned those who disappear with men without communicating with their relatives as this leads to them being reported to the police unnecessarily.

Mancence residents to benefit from community hall

uMhlathuze Municipality has partaken in another great initiative within the community that will benefit Ntambanana residents.

The municipality has begun constructing a multi-purpose community hall in Mancence is in Ward 33, in Ntambanana, outside Empangeni. The structuring of this facility is said to be completed by the end of March 2019 as the walls are already up, with the construction company currently working on the roof. It is reported that 70% of the structural work has been completed which includes the guard house and the fencing. uMhlathuze communications manager, Mr Mduduzi Ncalane says, the community requested the hall from the municipality and they have delivered. He also highlighted that they have many other projects in the pipelines that will benefit the community that they will reveal soon.

Nyoni police member brutally murdered and burnt

A murder case has been opened at the Nyoni police station following the death of an office clerk of the Sundumbili police station.

Nyoni police are investigating the murder after the deceased torched vehicle and charred remains were discovered on Wednesday morning. The victim’s family had reported him missing as he was last seen on Tuesday. Ilembe Cluster police spokesperson, Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo says, the victim was discovered tied up and burnt near his vehicle.
